Arabian Distance Riding
Distance riding is a rewarding equestrian sport that welcomes participants of all ages and experience levels. It challenges a horse’s fitness, stamina, and soundness, while also testing the rider’s judgment, horsemanship, and strategic decision-making under veterinary supervision along a cross-country trail. Many competitors personally own, train, and condition their horses, making the sport especially fulfilling for dedicated horsemen and horsewomen. Success in distance riding is built on discipline, commitment, preparation, and a true spirit of adventure.
Competitive Trail and Endurance are among the most popular distance disciplines, and Arabian horses are especially well known for excelling in both. Additional distance events include Ride & Tie and Mounted Orienteering, each offering its own unique blend of athleticism, teamwork, and outdoor challenge.

Arabian Distance Riding

Mounted Orienteering combines trail riding with navigation and problem-solving, offering a distinctive adventure for horse and rider. Participants use maps and navigational clues to locate checkpoints across varying terrain, testing not only riding ability but also route-planning and decision-making skills. This discipline appeals to riders who enjoy exploration, outdoor challenge, and the opportunity to experience horsemanship in a way that is both mentally engaging and physically rewarding.
Ride & Tie Distance Riding

Ride & Tie is a unique and demanding distance sport that blends horsemanship, endurance, and teamwork. In this event, two riders share one horse over a marked course, alternating between riding and running as they work together to complete the trail as efficiently as possible. Success in Ride & Tie depends on strategy, athleticism, and a strong partnership between teammates and horse, making it an exciting challenge for those who enjoy both competition and collaboration.
